I am writing this letter to acknowledge the excellent support an assistance that I have received to date from one of your employees. Approximately 4 months ago, our company found itself in the position of requiring additional software engineering personnel. Our needs are both quite specialized and dynamic.
We utilize two general types of software engineering personnel here at our company. What we refer to as “Embedded” or “Flight”, and “Test” software engineering personnel. The functions performed and skills required to perform these functions are significantly different.
spent significant time learning the differences in skill sets of the personnel required and the general functionality of the software. It is my belief that the extra time he has invested in understanding “what” our software does, and the skills and type of personnel required to perform these functions has allowed to pre-screen candidates far more effectively than the other agencies I have been working with. Our critical needs have shifted from searching for embedded flight Software engineers to test software engineers and back again several times in that 4 month period. Our priorities for a particular level of experience and seniority associated with those positions have shifted back and forth as well, causing a re-calibration of the types of candidates being targeted.
Through each change, has diligently worked with me to maintain an accurate understanding of the current and perceived future needs of our company. To date, every candidate I have performed a phone screening with has met fully with my expectations. Several of those candidates have been flown at our company; expense for follow up, in person, interviews. As a company of only 140 personnel, we do not take this associated expense lightly, and we have not been disappointed.
